「遺品整理業業者」の英訳語としては色々調べたが、新語すぎて見当たらなかった。そこで友人の英米記者と相談して作りあげたのが直訳のa memento disposerである（*脚注５）。「遺品」は普通mementoといい、「処理業者」は一般にはdisposerというからである。memento（遺品）の代わりに personal effects 、disposerの代わりにcleanerあるいはprocessorを使ってもよい。他によい訳語が見つからなかったので、そのまま踏襲する。なお、下記の訳例は上記の訳語の内mementoのものである。

Hitomi Soga, 43, stopped wordlessly and bowed in front of the grave that was supposed to be hers. A decade ago, her grieving father had buried her lipstick, rice bowl and a few other mementos here in a funeral ceremony. Now she is back in Tokyo with him, visiting from North Korea...
