Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord,
shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will
of my Father which is in heaven. 私（ジーザス）に、「主よ、主よ」、と言う者全員が天国に入れるわけではなく、天にいる私の父の御心を行う者のみが入れるのです。
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord,
have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out
devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?（*脚注2）
その日には大勢が私に、「主よ、主よ、私たちはあなたの名において予言し、あなたの名において悪霊を追い払い、あなたの名において数々の奇蹟を行ったではありませんか」と言うでしょう。
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew
you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. その時、私は彼らにこう宣言するのです。私はあなたたちのことなど全然知らない。不法なことをする者ども、私から離れろ、と。
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of
mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built
his house upon a rock: ですから、私の言葉を聞いて教えに従う者は皆、岩（神の真の教えのシンボル）の上に家を建てた賢者と同じだと私はみなすのです。
And the rain descended, and the floods came,
and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for
it was founded upon a rock. 雨が降り、洪水が襲い、風が吹き付けて、その家を打ち付けても、倒れませんでした。その家の基盤は岩だったからです。
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine,
and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built
his house upon the sand: そして、私の言葉を聞いてそれに従わない者は皆、砂の上に家を建てた愚か者と同じです。
And the rain descended, and the floods came,
and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great
was the fall of it. 雨が降り、洪水が襲い、風が吹きつけ、その家に打ち付けると、倒れてしまいました。しかも、ひどい倒れ方で。
