In a large bowl stir together flour, salt and baking powder. With a fork gradually work in lard. Add enough water to make a soft dough.

Knead the dough 5 minutes. Divide the dough into 1/4 cup portions and form into balls.
Roll out each ball into a flat round circle about 6 inches in diameter. Save half of them and put in plastic bags and freeze.

Heat a frying pan, over medium heat. Place the tortillas one at a time into the dry fry pan. Cook until brown on one side. Turn over and brown the other side. Remove from the pan and keep warm in a cloth towel.
