This lesson section is a fantastic way to test your English
ability daily. There are five categories for different levels and
interests, each of which changes every weekday. Each category contains
a short, interactive exercise, which should take no more than four
or five minutes - although some of the tougher questions may leave
you scratching your head for a bit longer than that! Following a category
(or two) regularly every day is the perfect way to test and improve
your English, no matter what your level - and if you visit the site
every day, you're bound to make progress as time goes by. Language
ability always improves much more quickly with frequent and regular
practice.
This category consists of exercises that
are aimed at intermediate or upper-intermediate students. It will
be particularly suitable for people intending to take the TOEIC exam,
including those who have taken the exam in the past, and who are aiming
to score up to 730 points. The grammar points are more challenging,
and also ideal for students of this level who do not plan to take
the exam.
This category consists of exercises that
are aimed at pre-intermediate or intermediate students. It will be
particularly suitable for people intending to take the TOEIC exam
and aiming to score up to 600 points. The grammar points are also
ideal for students of this level who do not plan to take the exam.
This category consists of exercises that
are aimed at elementary or pre-intermediate students. It will be particularly
suitable for people intending to take the TOEIC exam, possibly for
the first time, and who might expect to score anywhere up to 450 points.
It is a good way to practice some of the more basic grammar points,
providing a good foundation for future TOEIC success.
This category is mainly for people who are
preparing for, or have recently taken, the Eiken 2 examination. This
is quite an advanced level, and the lessons test various different
aspects of the language required to pass level 2. The exercises are
also ideal for students who want to practice their English at this
higher level without taking the test..
This category is aimed at people who would
like to use English when travelling abroad. The exercises cover a
wide range of situations you are likely to experience when traveling
in an English-speaking country, and provide a good opportunity to
brush up your skills before you depart or even while you're on holiday.
The level is suitable for those who maybe haven't used English recently,
or feel they're forgotten a lot of the English they studied at school.
